What are Goji Berries?
Goji Berries are the world's most adored superfood! Many people have discovered the wonders of Goji Berries and in the United States and Western Europe they are already considered a part of a healthy nutrition plan.
Goji Berries are a stunning bright red and about the size of a cranberry. Gojis have an exquisite, unique taste and may be compared to the taste of a combination of cranberries, raisins and wild berries. They grow in various locations, but mainly in China, where people have been eating them for thousands of years due to the belief in their ability to protect the liver, strengthen the immune system, prolong life, strengthen vision, enhance fertility and sexual performance, improve blood circulation and many, many other attributes.
Goji Berries contain high levels of vitamin C and polysaccharides, which makes them the perfect food for boosting the immune system. They contain 18 amino acids, including all 8 essential amino acids, 11 essential minerals and 22 trace elements, including calcium, iron, selenium, potassium and zinc. There are 9mgs of iron in 100g of gojis, which is 100% of the daily recommended dosage! They contain 6 essential vitamins, including B vitamins. They contain essential fatty acids, are considered a good source of protein and fiber, and these are only a few of the Goji wonders!
Goji Berries are one of the richest sources of antioxidants on earth. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) rated them
No. 1 on the ORAC Scale, which measures a food's ability to absorb free radicals.
Western nutritionists and naturopaths claim that Goji Berries boost the immune system, reduce physical weakness, reduce the effects of free radicals on the body (due to their antioxidants), curb appetite, prevent over eating and induce feelings of optimism and wellbeing. As a result, Gojis are known as "the happy berry". We've been eating Gojis for a very long time now, and we can definitely say that they make us smile and feel good!
Our Gojis are sun-dried, and can be eaten as is or soaked in water, which softens them and makes them even yummier! Now, you just have to give them a try!
